CAMAT offers therapy for children and adolescents with Tics and Tourette's Disorder via Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT). CBIT is a type of behavioral therapy designed to help youth manage motor and/or vocal tics or Tourette's Syndrome.
- Youth ages 5-18 (inclusive) with motor and/or vocal tics may be eligible to participate in CBIT at CAMAT.
- CBIT sessions may take place in-person or via Zoom.
- Fees are offered on a sliding scale and are based on family income. The fee for individual therapy ranges from $40 - $120 per session.
- Throughout treatment, families complete online questionnaires to assess treatment progress.
What to Expect:
- After you complete the initial screening information linked below, eligible families will be contacted to schedule an initial evaluation at a fee based on a sliding scale.
- The initial evaluation involves a diagnostic interview with children and parents to better understand presenting concerns. The evaluation may take place on either Zoom or in-person depending on family's preference.
- For children younger than 8 years old, only parents participate in the evaluation, however, your child may be asked to attend this meeting.
- At the time of the evaluation, families will complete intake paperwork and questionnaires before beginning treatment procedures.
- Following the evaluation, a feedback session will be scheduled to share diagnostic impressions and recommendations for treatment.
- If your family is not eligible for treatment at CAMAT, we will provide you with referrals for other providers.
- If your family is eligible for treatment at CAMAT, your intake clinician will share additional information about enrolling in therapy.
