The CAMAT Program is a specialty research clinic at the University of Miami dedicated to providing in-depth, psychological evaluations and intervention services (therapy) for children and adolescents with emotional disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder) and tics and Tourette's disorders. At CAMAT, we take a scientific approach to treatment, as we conduct research projects related to the treatment of emotional and behavioral concerns in youth. Situated on the Coral Gables campus of the prestigious University of Miami, our spacious clinic is centrally located and accessible. Additionally, when in-person services are not available (e.g., COVID-19), CAMAT offers families in the State of Florida the ability to communicate via the videoconferencing platform, Zoom videoconferencing platform. At CAMAT, we offer multiple treatment options and multiple payment options for all Florida families. Please see below for additional information.
CAMAT offers therapy via the Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders in Children and Adolescents (UP-C and UP-A), which includes elements of both traditional cognitive behavior therapy and newer behavior therapy elements, such as mindfulness skills. The UP-C and UP-A are short-term treatment approaches that provide skills and experiences to youth and their parents that may help to reduce unwanted fear, anxiety, OCD and depression symptoms. The UP-C and UP-A involve weekly therapy sessions and are offered as either individual or group treatments.
Up to 24 weeks (6 months) of fee-based cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) for all Florida familes ages 6-18. Cost of services offered on a sliding scale based on family income. Click for additional information.
